USA - The Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)
The European Chemicals Regulation (EC No. 1907/2006) on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals entered into force in June 2007. The REACH regulation requires substances manufactured or imported into the European Union, including substances in preparation, in quantities over one metric tonne per year, to be registered unless exempted. The main aims of REACH are to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals.
REACH makes the industry responsible for assessing and managing the risks posed by chemicals and providing appropriate safety information to their users.
As a market leader worldwide, HPL is fully committed to Regulatory Affairs and the company invests significant resources to ensuring that its products are 100% compliant with all existing global, as well as emerging regional chemical regulations.
As a responsible manufacturer of chemicals, HPL Additives has always been attentive to the way chemical substances are used and is thus continuously focused on developing policies that aim to improve the safety and health of people as well as the environment.
This is why HPL Additives supports the principle of an effective chemicals regulatory system in order to deliver sustainable health and environmental safety benefits.
In order to ensure that HPL Additives is well prepared for REACH, a Regulatory Cell is formed to ensure compliance with, and implementation of the regulation. The organisation has registered all of the eligible substances that it exports to the EU.
